*There are other you can Research and Review on this website or other forums ![]() J.River Media Player (Not Free, but well worth it) Obviously, the issue you are having is being caused some frequencies being out of sync You may want to consider turning Gain Switch ON if your headset has a high Impedance RatingĢ. Check your headset Impedance Rating and Wattage. Check out specs on your headset and determine if you need to turn the Gain Switch ON or OFF. With that all said, you may want to try the following options below to improve sound (Keep in mind the FiiO E10K Does not have EQ Software - You need 3rd party software):ġ. I'm assuming you have read through the short guide and downloaded the updated firmware - available on FiiO Support webpage (You will need to have an account and product registered to receive update). The FiiO E10K Amp & DAC is very simplistic in nature. Fortune wasn't with me.I own a FiiO E10K OLYMPUS-2 and may be able to offer some guidance. In any case, I'm happy that finally everything's working fine without the need to EQ anything. I just had never assumed that both things could actually suffer from the same problem. But you guys were also correct in that my X2's had an imbalance. My Fiio E10K is indeed suffering from an output imbalance. And guess what, without even spending more than ten seconds the imbalance was immediately back, and pretty much right there in my face. Played a mono track with sibilant highs and boomy bass, and no matter how much I turned my headphones around, the sound was in the dead middle off my brain.Īnd then I've brought out my E10K again, just to make sure I am not going insane. I double, triple, quadruple checked that my EQ with the manual balancing wasn't still enabled. What I definitely didn't expect and caught be completely off-guard was the fact that my X2's are perfectly balanced now. Maybe a little nicer sound, but that's already the end of my expectations. I originally bought this thing because I needed a portable DAC/amp that has pre-outs and line-in. But I just had to deal with it.Įnter: Schiit Fulla 2 (it's twice as heavy and three times as large) Like the imbalance is different with different frequencies. So I went back to my equalizer and software-adjusted the louder channel to be about 2dB quieter and it was tolerable, but still not perfect. I would buy a lottery ticket if that was actually the case. ![]() I did not want to believe that I actually had three pairs of X2's that all had channel imbalance. It's not nearly as bad as it was with the other two or I would've noticed it immediately, but I was about to get a freaking aneurysm from this nightmare. I sent the other two back and thought I was happy.īut a few days later I've started to notice that there still is an imbalance there, to the left again. Third one finally gave the impression that it was working fine. However, second one also had an imbalance, but this time it was to the right channel. I learned the hard way that X2's suffer from QC issues because I actually replaced them twice:įirst one had an imbalance to the left channel, as said before. Okay, I thought, this must be the sole cause. I then researched the whole mess a little and found out that X2's tend to have a lot of QC issues in general. And it turns out that it indeed was the problem. Eventually, after many suggestions, I went ahead and checked if it's my Philips Fidelio X2 headphones instead that have the balance issue. ![]() Sorry for the bump, but I have news on the whole ordeal.Īs I originally stated, I thought my Fiio E10K was having a balance issue. How well does that compare to the Fiio E10K? Other recommendations are obviously appreciated as well! I swap between headphones and speakers a lot.Īn interesting product I've found so far is the Schiit Fulla 2.
